How do we collect information from you? 

We obtain information from you when you use our website, specifically when you register yours and your pets details via our online registration form or in the use of other online user forms. You may also provide us with information by corresponding with us by phone, email or in person. The personal information you provide will include your name, address, email address, contact numbers etc alongside your pets details such as species, breed, DOB, insurance details etc. By providing us with this information, you understand and provide consent to our use of your personal data in accordance with this privacy policy. 

How we use your personal information

We use personal information about you in connection with the following purposes:

Patient treatment reminders

In order to keep you up to date with your pets clinical information, the practice will use your pets clinical records to provide correspondence in relation to vaccination and treatment reminders.  

 Marketing purposes

To administer any campaigns, promotions, events or competitions and any other marketing communications that may be of interest to you.

 Service improvements and account management

We will notify you of any changes to our services and may seek your views or comments on the services we provide and to manage and operate your account with us.

We will correspond these communications to you where you have specifically agreed to particular correspondence channels e.g. by email, SMS or telephone. You can inform us if you no longer require marketing communications. Opting out to account management correspondence however is not optional as this does not comply with our terms of business. 

Who is your information shared to?

 Third party service providers working on our behalf

In order to provide the veterinary service requested by you, we may in some instances pass your information to our third party service providers and associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks. This may for example be in the instance that we require external laboratory testing, referring a patient to a specialist, providing information to insurers to complete a claim or passing your information on to our direct debit provider (Easy Direct Debits) in order to subscribe you to our preventative healthcare plan. In some cases we require a history from a previous vet practice and in order for this to be dispatched this will require your consent on the basis you contact the practice to allow them to release the information. Please note, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and their use of any data we provide will be governed by their own terms of use and privacy policy. 

We will not sell or share your information to third parties for marketing purposes. 

Your rights 

In order to comply with our terms of business, all those registered with The Neighbourhood Vet must agree to receiving account related correspondence (practice personal messages). If you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from us regarding products and services that may benefit you, then you have the option to select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes situated in your online portal which can be found here. 

We will continue to contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or SMS until you decide to opt out.
